Development
Certainty through Simulation & Engineering
Material Selection & Strength Calculations
Avoid costly modifications to molds by ensuring your design is compliant beforehand. We answer the most critical question—is the product strong enough?—using advanced strength and stiffness simulations. We can even accurately predict long-term effects, such as lifespan under constant load (creep). This ensures the correct material selection before production begins.

Moldex3D Flow Simulation
A stable production process begins with insight. With Moldex3D, we model the product, runners, and mold cooling in minute detail. This provides answers to critical questions:
-
How will the mold be filled and where should the gates be positioned?
-
What machine size (clamping force) is required?
-
What is the expected cycle time and warpage?

Design Review: Product, Mold & Process
Successful mass production relies on the synergy between design, mold, and material. During our Design Review, we go beyond the 3D model to analyze manufacturability. Small details, such as sufficient draft angles, are crucial to preventing process disruptions. We ensure that the product and process are perfectly aligned.

Physical Testing
Validation is key. Protyp operates an in-house test bench to mechanically stress-test products and specimens. This allows us to validate theoretical models against real-world performance.
Innovative Cheese Packaging (CT Food)
The Challenge:
Commissioned by CT Food (Neede), Protyp developed a unique cheese packaging solution featuring a knife injection-molded directly onto the tray. The goal was to realize a market-ready product that was both functional and manufacturable for high-volume series.
Our Approach: From Concept to Series Protyp executed the entire scope in-house, from initial sketch to pilot production:
3D Engineering & Prototyping
Following 3D modeling, physical samples were produced using our High-Resolution Photopolymer printer. These prototypes are indistinguishable from injection-molded parts in terms of appearance and detail, allowing for immediate design validation.

Process Optimization with Moldex3D
Through extensive flow analysis, we created an optimal flow balance. This guaranteed a stable and reproducible injection molding process, which is essential for future mass production.

Test Mold & Validation
To eliminate early-stage design flaws and test the product in practice, an aluminum pilot mold was manufactured. This allowed for a small production run for market testing and mechanical verification.
